Emergency Department
North Shore University Hospital – Plainview, NY

Construction on the Emergency Department at North Shore University Hospital was performed in multiple phases to maintain the use of the active Emergency Department over the course of a six month period.

To facilitate the initial phases of this project the Axis Modular Division provided a modular waiting area that was outfitted and attached to the side of the building. A new ambulance entry and entrance canopy was constructed to provide shelter from the elements to the patients when being off-loaded. Two new rooftop air handling units where added. A new isolation room was constructed, complete with specialized ventilation equipment.

The completed Emergency Rooms Department features new nurses’ stations, staff lounges, a waiting room, an isolation room, HAZ MAT decontamination facilities, and new treatment rooms. Each of the treatment rooms where outfitted with state of the art Hillrom Headwall Systems and integrated bed locators.
