IT Department Mechanical Upgrades
North Shore/LIJ Huntington Hospital / Huntington, NY

In order for Huntington Hospital to meet the demands of the ever changing technology in the healthcare industry a complete renovation and expansion of the IT Department was needed. Axis Construction provided all of the services required to demolish the existing department as well as adjacent areas to increase the overall size by over 500 sq. ft. to allow for the Hospital to install new fiber optic equipment, servers, racks and printing services. The project included the installation of six new packaged air conditioning units, two new automatic transfer switches, all new electrical services and finishes. Added to the challenge was the need for the Hospital to stay “on-line” so Axis implemented a complete phasing plan which allowed for minimal disruption to Hospital functions.
